Welp, I eat poke for THE FISH and veggies. The rice should only be 1-1.5 cups of the bowl, but that’s just like my own health journey. I got the larger (2protein) bowl from here and it’s literally 60% rice. I paid $26 for very little fish. Now I know it’s gotten tough out in the world, but dayum. At least try and make up for it with topping options….like I must have asked for seaweed like four times as I ordered. In his defense I didnt check the order before I hopped on my bike or the receipt. BUT, I got like 6 cucumber slices, the green onions and onions were pre mixed into the fish options, so not very fresh tasting. Plus, there are very little topping options. The menu is very confusing. I didn’t receive much guidance from the counter. It was just not chill and I was just starving coming here today. Then…I ordered ponzu but didn’t taste like ponzu so idk. Just overall, nah fam. I’m local in HB and I won’t be back. North Shore Poke does it better, not sorry :/

Honestly this place was pretty average to any other poke spot and after seeing the hype on social media apps, I decided to try it and it was pretty mid. Don’t get me wrong. The food was actually pretty good but for $26 I was not expecting such a small size. I got the California flavored salmon, and it was mostly crab and other additives and there was only maybe like five cubes of salmon. Everything other than the fish had already came with was extra, which I was not expecting since most places don’t charge extra for toppings so I had to pay almost 2 dollars for a small scoop of imitation crab. Other than that, the servers were really nice and our food came out relatively fast. I do recommend another place that’s down the street called Nori poke, It is half the price and the bowls are just as good and big.

Big fan of poke bowls and this place did not disappoint. Got the 2-choice bowl with ahi and salmon, topped with dragon spicy sauce and Hawaiian seaweed, loved the mix of flavors and the nice spicy kick. Definitely coming back for this one.

THE BEST POKE!! Don’t let the line deter you! It was worth every minute we spent waiting! Got the ahi nachos shoyu style and loved every single bite! There was so much flavor it seriously was the best! Better than any poke I tried in Hawaii! The owners were so friendly - Wish I could eat here every day!

Their motto of "aloha first, den poke" is the heart of what they do. I got the privilege to come during soft opening and to meet the owners Ry and Khannie, who flew straight from Oahu to open this shop in the mainland! It is hands down the best and most authentic poke outside of Hawaii. I drove an hour and a half on a random weekday just to try this and I am so so glad I did. We ordered the mayjah--two types of poke on top of warm rice. One garlic ponzu crunch and one spicy tobiko. Both were delicious. Fresh, high quality fish with bursts of flavor and amazing textures. I'm already thinking of trying all the diff flavors when I come back! We were taken care of like family and I truly do believe that many restaurants should learn from what they do. Thank you, uncle Ry and auntie Khannie, for sharing your love for poke and community for others to experience. I can safely say that I will definitely be trying their original shack in Oahu someday! Much love.
